We’ve been doing things this way for nearly twenty years we’d love to help you too. You want to get the best from your system. We can help you do it.
Why Air-Conditioning Inspections are required?
The Primary of the EPBD regulations is to give building owners and operators information about the performance of buildings and plant, under their control, and identify opportunities to cut energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.
Does your equipment come under the EPBD regulations?
If the combined duty of your air conditioning system is greater than 12 KW the answer is almost certainly yes.
EPBD Regulations defines an air conditioning system as follows:
When are the Inspections Required?
As from January 2011 all systems that fall within the criteria require an inspection at least every 5 years.
Where do the Reports go?
Reports compiled after the survey, one copy is to be sent to the land mark registry and another copy forwarded to the property owner.
Benefits
The energy inspection will also take into consideration the application of the Air Conditioning Systems:
Is it the right equipment? How can we get more out of it? Can we cut energy costs without risking reliability? Are there ways to improve uptime and productivity? Should we maintain, upgrade or replace? If these are the things you worry about, we can help. And by outsourcing this kind of thinking to experienced experts with no vested interest, you’re free to concentrate on meeting your daily pressures and demands. We work with plant, estate and facilities managers in all these sectors:
Save your energy
Cooler thinking Sometimes it pays to have cool heads around you. People with the experience, the legislation knowledge and the impartiality to help you find the right answers. Our expert engineers can help you enhance processes, increase uptime, optimise performance, ensure reliability, improve energy efficiency, cut costs and reduce payback periods. Twenty years of keeping it cool
Because we’re independent, we’re always able to specify the most appropriate product. Our advice is always impartial. And we’re always 100% honest about system performance. Because we know the market inside out, we’re able to work across all equipment. And because we’re experienced across all manufacturers, we have the flexibility to carry out service and maintenance right across your factory. No strings
Our expert teams can handle complete projects - from initial assessments through to specification, installation, commissioning, facilities agreements and service contracts. They have the technical and applications knowledge and open-minded approach to analyse problems, assess alternatives and recommend the right answers to deliver the results you need. And they could save you thousands of pounds on energy consumption and operational costs. Saving you money
Our proactive initiatives have taken us into the fields of vibration analysis, oil sampling and non-destructive testing – providing insights into plant, and helping to plan for maintenance rather than wait for breakdowns. From leak testing and gas usage to plant downtime, we can effectively monitor your refrigeration and air conditioning equipment to analyse its efficiency and performance. Thinking ahead
We’re passionate about setting KPIs and targets, monitoring trends and results, and measuring performance on our clients’ behalf. We put proactive mechanisms in place to stop things going wrong, and pick up potential faults before they happen. The sophisticated database we hold for each site provides a full analysis of work, performance and areas for improvement. We share results fully and honestly. We challenge ourselves. We always aim to improve. Uptime up, costs down
We understand the demands of modern working practices, and the importance of refrigeration in process cooling for industrial applications. We’re familiar with equipment including York, Hitachi, Trane, Carrier, Sabroe, J&E Hall and Linde, covering the full range of compressor types as well as bespoke systems, absorption refrigeration and ammonia applications. IRS is one of the few companies who still offer compressor overhauls in-situ where removal is impractical. And for temporary or emergency cooling we can get you up and running fast.
We also look after commercial and catering refrigeration for universities, hospital and hotels. Applications range from bottle coolers and cold rooms to fridges, freezers, cellar coolers, ice machines and blast chillers and freezers. Equipment includes Foster, Williams, Gamko, Autonumis, Sadia, IMI, Searle, Prestcold, Copeland, Friga-Bohn, L'Unite and Hubbard. As experts in European legislation, and forerunners in the application of the new breeds of refrigerant, we can advise and carry out system retrofits from old CFC refrigerants to the modern environmentally friendly replacements.
We can take care of all air conditioning requirements from maintaining and servicing single split units to designing and project managing multi-split systems. Typical equipment includes Daikin, Mitsubishi, Acson, IMI, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Airedale, Toshiba, LG and Sanyo. Our service includes full installation and commissioning, electrical works, BMS system design and linkup, ducting and ventilation. Our multi-skilled engineers are experienced in every type of system including split system wall, ceiling, cassette and floor mounted, multi splits, ducted, VRVs, chilled water and portable units.
Energy costs are rising. Energy efficiency is a critical issue. We can provide expert, independent advice to help you reduce consumption, avoid waste, and streamline control to work as efficiently as possible. This often starts with a full site survey to look at potential cost-saving and environmental benefits. We can also set up monitoring stations to carry out trend pattern analysis. If it proves necessary, we can install new bespoke systems and/or upgrade existing plant to cut consumption and achieve optimum performance.
We can tailor a service or maintenance contract to meet your needs exactly – whatever the size of your business, budget or timescale. Options include fully comprehensive, labour comprehensive, fixed price maintenance and service retainer. We can provide guaranteed response times for breakdowns.
IRS has the team to implement turnkey projects from individual Air Conditioning Units through to large Industrial Refrigeration Systems. From 2kW to over 1000kW capacity. Our independent approach enables us to design, specify and implement bespoke requirements.
We are familiar with all types of control systems and can install new or utilise exiting set-ups to get your cooling equipment working to optimum levels.
We have a dedicated team who assist in compiling and finalising reports produced by our own in house Energy assessor, who is Quidos accredited and F-Gas registered, and a fully qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer with 30 Years experience in the industry.
The government’s aim with these certificates is to help organisations identify inefficiencies that are wasting energy, and help them to save money.
