Due to expansion, we are immediately seeking Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilation Maintenance Engineers in the Midlands Area.

We desire flexible and committed individuals, with some form of previous practical mechanical engineering or electrical experience being advantageous, although not essential.

The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, operate with a keen attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable submitting electronic reports (training will be provided on our operating system). They must also be comfortable working off their own initiative, to tight timescales, working with other engineers and be comfortable following instruction. They will possess a “can-do” attitude and enjoy working amongst our existing team of service, maintenance and apprentice engineers.

IRS carries out Service, Maintenance and Installation works on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment at many sites across the Midlands region and beyond. We look after a vast range of equipment from Industrial Process Cooling to Small Commercial Equipment. Approximately 80% of our contracted sites are located within a 50-mile radius of our head office (Bromsgrove), with a number of sites under contract with guaranteed response times in locations further afield such as Stoke, Barnsley, Gloucester, Bath, Milton Keynes, and Leicester.

Our current portfolio of contracts we service range vastly from small commercial businesses (split a/c systems, process water chillers, kitchen cabinets and cold stores, etc) up to large commercial and industrial businesses (food production cooling, large scale cold storage, large building air conditioning, hospitals, universities, etc). In the main, the role will be one of carrying out routine maintenance of commercial Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilation equipment, to include full reporting. There will be occasions where assistance will be provided to service engineers to assist with breakdowns, service repairs and/or installations.

Due to the nature of our industry, specific qualifications will need to be achieved, and training will be provided to achieve these if not already possessed.

This will include: -

  • CITB F-Gas Refrigerant Handling
  • CITB Essential Electrics for electrical safety
  • PASMA - Towers and Mobile Lifts
  • IPAF License - Scissor Lift / Self Propelled Boom
  • CITB HS&E Specialist HVACR Test (RAAC)
  • Ladder Association Safe Use & Inspection of Ladders
