Industrial Refrigeration Services Ltd will continue to source and supply the most competitive prices for the parts required by their customers in light of a 25% increase on refrigerants with High Global Warming Potential (GWP).

As a result of the decline of the Sterling against the Euro and Dollar, wholesalers and manufacturers have had no choice other than to implement price increases on their products and spares. On average the prices of most items has increased by around 10% with prices of high GWP refrigerants seeing price increases as high as 25%.

While international efforts have been made to phase out ozone-depleting CFC and HCFC gases like R22, there are still very strict regulations controlling the use, maintenance and containment of HFCs (fluorinated or F-Gases) because of their high GWP. These gases are widely used in air conditioning, refrigeration and process chilling systems and compliance to EU F-Gas Regulation 842/2006 is mandatory.

Mark Parsons, Managing Director at IRS Ltd explains, ‘We understand that the economic uncertainty of late and the decline of the Sterling has resulted in our suppliers having to hike their prices.’ He adds ‘We promise we will continue to source and supply the most competitive prices for the parts we require and will ensure a cost breakdown on quotations and invoices can be supplied to our customers if requested.’

IRS Ltd who have been supplying refrigeration and air conditioning services and solutions for over 27 years have recently completed a number of turnkey projects for the design and installation of major industrial refrigeration systems and complex CFC upgrades to meet the impending European targets for a reduction in ozone depleting refrigerants. The team operate the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and take their responsibility to protect the environment very seriously. They are committed to complying with accepted environmental practice and conduct themselves in such a way as to minimise the creation of wastes and pollution and support their clients to reduce the environmental impacts associated with their work. IRS Ltd will continue to support their clients to move away from using HFCs where technically feasible, promoting the lower usage of GWP gases and advising on the effects of service and sales bans coming in over the next few years.
