Premier Foods Carlton have been working closely with IRS for the last 5 years, traditionally the service support contract had been set up to offer reactive support, which was around completing very basic checks, report defects & offer call out service to support the site when needed. We also had little communication between organisations to develop the customer / support relationship. Following a period of analysis of our total cost of ownership including the service contract which included banked engineer days, repair costs & downtime across the site, we concluded that a more proactive approach to servicing our HVAC equipment was needed. We approached IRS to work with us developing a more proactive approach to the service contract, IRS responded well in developing a much improved service contract that focussed on preventing failures rather than managing them, the contract cost initially increased to support the service time needed to maintain the equipment, parts were replaced periodically instead of reactively, we also introduced a monthly review meeting to improve communications & service support & track open queries on both sides. Our services & relationship is now in a much better position, we are well planned & have great equipment reliability, our call outs have dropped to almost nothing as a direct result of service contract development. Both IRS & Premier Foods continue to explore ways to further improve our equipment performance through a strong partnership focussed on equipment reliability.
